The Natural Source is an online Health & Wellness brand that sells 100% all natural Sea Moss products cultivated in the waters of St.Lucia. After research and careful planning my client and I decided the color green should be heavily featured on the site to give users the feel of natural and health. My client believed that it would be important to feature her process on the site for prospective clients to reenforce the 100% natural claim from the brand. Sea Moss can be used for skin, dietary tract, energy and overall wellness.
First, my client contracted me to create a logo for her brand which is pictured above. With a theme and feel for her website already planned out, and her wanting to display an array of wording in her logo, I believed it was best to create an emblem for her brand. The emblem reinforces the Natural feel with a light nude color scheme and two leaf branches which was inserted towards the top of the emblem. The logo looks great not only on the website, but also on her custom packaging.
As pictured above, the website features and array of greens, from a light lime green, to a dark (almost blue) green. I matched HEX Code colors featured in her main image to create the color scheme for the website. The products are also broken into 3 categories, For Consumption, Face Masks, and Scrubs. The Natural Source allows users to choose from an array of flavors while also mixing and matching flavors which was achieved by listing each flavor as a product variant and allowing users to select up to two at a time.
The desktop design features a welcome screen coupled with an image of the items the business owner uses to create her natural products and an information card overlaying the left side of said image giving a brief description of the business, reenforcing the natural ingredients used to make the products. On the home page most popular products are also featured, the goal is for prospective customers to immediately see and shop for what they need without having to physically search through the website.
With my client's primary source of promotion being through social media, 90% of visitors interacting with the website will be doing so via mobile device. This means mobile design was the primary concern, as was featuring the client's social media presence on the website. The mobile version of the website features a 2 column grid system with the same "natural greens" color scheme has the desktop version of the website. The navigation menu of the website is condensed to a 3 bar collapsable system with a "sticky" header allowing for users to access the main menu at any point on the website, the social media grid also collapses into this 2 column system with use of a media query.
