Hype is a social media platform that shows users events that are happening around them so they can find local parties, social gatherings, and club events in their desired city or area.
The Hype App website is a project I created for my client In Webflow. Webflow is a Content Management System that gives the user a sandbox experience when creating a website. With a surface level knowledge of code and web development users are able to create any website, theme and animation necessary to please the client. The client's goal for the website was a 1 page simple informational site to entice potential users thinking about downloading the app with simple animations and a dark color scheme.
The desktop design of the website features a "Get The App" button on the left hand side of the opening screen, prompting users to immediately download the app through Testflight, this is especially important for users that have already heard of or interacted with the app and are just looking to download. To the right is a mobile screen from a Figma prototype of the app. The screen displays the interactive map that allows users to select events by area, this is the most important feature of the app so highlighting this screen up front was paramount. Below the site features sliders that appear with parallax scrolling animations explaining the purpose and additional features of Hype.
With Hype being a mobile app, nailing the mobile design was important. Every feature displayed on the desktop version of the site is mirrored on the mobile version, but media queries are applied to fit said features into the dimensions of a phone screen. The opening screen still features the "Get The App" button but instead of having the button off-set to the left side of the screen(as featured on the desktop version of the site) this major element is presented in the middle of the screen. The parallax scrolling effects are still featured on the mobile version along with all screens and highlighted features that the scrolling triggers.
